60% of people think your dad joke is amusing
A roundup of the hilarious parenting content from the week, guaranteed to make you smile, if not laugh out loud.
Happy Saturday Dads!
As always we can picture you there, sitting on the floor amongst the rubble of a once tidy sitting room, now taken over by miniature terrorists currently painting your face in the style of a flowery-dragon.
We see it as our job, to reflect your life as a dad through the lens of the funny content we’ve spent hours devouring the internet for this week. If we get you to laugh-out-loud at least once, then we’ll take that as a job well done!

Is innovation is built on the laziness of dads?
Matthew McConaughey makes parenting look easy
As always, if you enjoyed this week’s edition and think you might know someone else who would, please do share. We know how tough being a parent can be, and sometimes you just need a moment to laugh at some of the craziness.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy that beer once it finally comes.

It’s all in the numbers
They embarrassed us when we were younger, but now that we have the power, dad jokes are arguably one of the great (and often underrated) perks that come with fatherhood.
In a UK-based poll that ran last year, 60% of respondents admitted to being amused by a dad joke, whilst 67% found them cringeworthy. [source]
This overlap in the data tells us (well me at least) that a proportion of people who cringe at those knee-slappers, are in fact, also secretly entertained.
And if that doesn’t convince you, then 29% of respondents from the same report stated that “their old man’s terrible gags form some of their favourite memories of them.”
We say, keep them coming!

The dad bod
In June 2023, the same month in which the UK ran a poll to determine the most amusing dad joke, the dads down-under were voting in a competition of an arguably far greater magnitude.
In the Mackay and Whitsundays region, the Star 101.9 Mackay radio station held the 2023 "Best Dad Bods" competition. [link]
Well done to all involved, the organiser, competitors and voters; as one female viewer commented:
"These champions have proven that a dad bod can be a symbol of confidence, approachability, and, most importantly, breaking free from societal expectations. They inspire us to embrace our authentic selves!"
Well we don’t need to be told twice; tops off lads!
How the stars do it
Why does parenting sound so simple when Matthew McConaughey talks about it?
“They eat, they crap, they sleep. And if they’re crying, they need to do one of the three and they’re having trouble doing it. Real simple.” - Matthew McConaughey
Dad hack of the week
For anyone too intimidated by the older kids at the playground to take your kids this weekend, why not try this little hack with your electric drill.
