Is Bluey the GOAT when it comes to kids TV?
A roundup of the hilarious parenting content from the week, guaranteed to make you smile, if not laugh out loud.
Happy Saturday Dads!
Ever tried to sit a toddler down and explain the meaning of life?
We reckon you might have more success doing that, than persuading them that the clocks going back means they get to stay in bed for an hour longer.
Anyway, best of luck tomorrow dads!
Coming up this week…
Is Bluey the GOAT when it comes to kids TV
How to dress your kids for the cold
Shia LaBeouf gets real about

As always, if you enjoyed this week’s edition and think you might know someone else who would, please do share. We know how tough being a parent can be, and sometimes you just need a moment to laugh at some of the craziness.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy that beer once it finally comes.

It’s all in the numbers
After mentioning last week that this dad’s household was midway through a Saturday morning binge of Hey Duggee, we had loads of responses from our loyal ‘dadbase’ with recommendations of other favourite kids shows.
This triggered a spontaneous survey we posted to Reddit, with all responses being unequivocally in favour of Bluey.
To be honest, the fact that @HairyRogue agrees should be enough for anyone, but for those of you still not convinced, here’s a few other pieces of supporting evidence to Bluey’s superiority.
Each episode has taken 4-5 months to produce, which must be a good 4-5 months more than lots of the garbage we’ve watched
The theme tune is so good that 15m fanatics have listened to a 10min loop on Youtube
And perhaps uniquely, the creator Joe Brumm, specifically wrote the show to appeal to parents
“Beyond dogs and stuff like that, I really just wanted to create a show that parents would enjoy watching with their kids rather than you just sort of tolerate it.”
That being said, we did manage to find one person who openly goes against the grain on this one… just in case you wanted a more balanced view.
For anyone who’s already blitzed their way through the entirety of Bluey, then we think these blinding recommendations are also worth checking out:
“Sarah and Duck, it's on amazon. I've decided it's like the lofi hiphop of kids shows.”
“Tractor Ted is the Clarkson’s Farm of kids TV, minus the swearing, it’s unbelievably wholesome.”
They will thank you
How’re you set for this cold weather? Get the family kitted out with our handy tips and ideas below.
The cold can be a bit of a minefield to navigate, especially when stubborn little Alfie thinks he’s invincible in a leopard print leotard and nothing else.
Here’s a pretty useful guide we’ve found that keeps things pretty simple.
If this year’s Indian Summer got in the way of your winter shopping, then don’t worry there’s still plenty of time, and some pretty nifty discounts to take advantage of, like these almost too good to be true discounts at Kidly including 30% off ‘cosy layers’.
But for those with more specific tastes, here are a couple of cold-weather options that we love for their versatility. The first has been tried and tested by our toddler who now finally agrees to wear a coat every day thanks to its cute tractor design.
And to be clear, no one paid us to include these (sadly), we just genuinely like them.
3-In-1 Waterproof Jacket from JoJo Bebe Maman: £55.50
Baby Reversible Tribbles Hoody from Patagonia: £110
And for the newborn dads just looking for ways to emulate the Ryan Reynolds dad-style, then here is a must buy, with a removable pouch that can be transferred to almost all jackets/coats.
Men's Parka with Baby Pouch from Serpahine: £189
Dad hack of the week
This dad has resorted to one sure-fire way of generating a bit of peace and quiet. I doubt his little lass will be making that mistake again.

How the stars do it
We never thought we’d agree so wholeheartedly with Shia LaBeouf, but this succinct description of parenthood really hits home.
“…when you put the fourth diaper on, and she doesn’t shit…it feels like a miracle.
It feels like God is hugging you, like ‘I got you bro…’”

Upcoming dates that it might be worth having up your sleeve:
Half-term (in England) 23-27th October. Don’t worry, only 2 more days!
Clocks go back tomorrow! Everyone else is likely to enjoy an extra hour in bed, but remember, you have kids.
Halloween 31st October. Time to find the lowest effort outfit you’re able to pull together from your existing wardrobe.
Bonfire Night 5th November. Sparklers at the ready boys!
That’s it for this week folks.
Thanks again for reading, as always we leave you with one HILARIOUS joke to share with the family.
A policy officer caught two kids playing with a firework and a car battery.
He charged one and let the other off.
