How many baby socks do you lose each day?
Scroll down for a roundup of the hilarious parenting content from the week, guaranteed to make you smile, if not laugh out loud. And the odd helpful tip.
Happy Saturday Dads!
Help, we had the nerve to prepare our toddler’s breakfast this morning before they were ready.
Despite it being the same thing they eat every morning, we’re not sure we’ll recover from the drama that ensued.
Day ruined.
Coming up this week…

🔢 It’s all in the numbers
Did anyone else grow up thinking the Bermuda Triangle was going to play a much bigger role in their lives?
Well, it turns out that it might, at least metaphorically speaking.
Research has established that 84 million socks go missing in the UK every month, at an average of 1.3 per person.
For anyone else suffering through the early years, you’d be forgiven for thinking that number felt on the slightly conservative side.
Why do babies insist on undressing their feet at every opportunity, and where on earth do the wandering socks disappear to?
⚒️ Try this
Looking at nurseries can be a daunting task given that it was decades ago we were last in one, so what should we be looking out for?
Well, here are 10 questions to ask on your next viewing:
What experience/qualifications do your staff have and how do you approach recruitment?
Do you offer funded places for 2-4 yr olds?
Will my child have a key person; and how many other kids will they be looking after?
How do ensure the safety of my child during nursery hours?
What sort of activities do you provide; and how do you approach learning and development?
How do you keep us informed about the day-to-day but also the longer term development of my child?
What do your fees include?
Do you operate in term-time only, or do you cover holidays too?
How much outdoor time will my child get?
What does the current turnover of staff look like?

🍽️ Recipe of the week
Anyone trying to get fish into their toddlers knows how difficult it can be. Well, we stumbled across this pretty simple recipe that we reckon our toddler might just fall for.
Recipe: TUNA MELT FRITTERS
🐟 1/2 tin of tuna
🫘 1/2 tin of baked beans
🥚 1x egg
🌾 1x 1tbsp of flour
🧀 a handful of cheese
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients, grease your pan with butter and cook on a medium heat for a few minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.

⭐ How the stars do it
Dealing with sibling rivalry is never easy, especially when the youngest is a newborn. But it can lead to some pretty creative parenting, like the breastfeeding “distraction” tactic Kim and Kanye West employed.
When I was breastfeeding him, [North] was so jealous I had to get a little milk box and put it in the other bra with a straw so she would drink and he would drink.
Apparently this isn’t actual footage of how it went down, but we like to think it was somewhat similar:
Upcoming dates that it might be worth having up your sleeve:
Mother’s Day | 10th March; this is your penultimate reminder…do with that information what you will.
But in case you feel like being a little bit more prepared this year, here are a few more ideas (review last week’s email for even more)
Personalised lockets: give your partner the gift that’ll keep on giving. At under £100, your partner will love carrying this necklace around wherever they go.
Spa day (or at home): treat your partner to a spa day or bring the spa to them with Neom.
Customised footprints: capture your baby’s footprint for eternity with these easy ‘at home’ (and importantly; inkless) footprint kits.
Saving that, just get some flowers. They’ll never disappoint.
That’s it for this week folks.
Thanks again for reading, as always we leave you with one HILARIOUS joke to share with the family.
